Project Independence is a non-profit organization which encourages children with Autism to reach their full potential through social interaction, life-skills training and sports. The goal of Project Independence is to open a facility to assist the family, one of the first of its kind in Louisiana. Project Independence began as a result of the many needs our neighbors face in the everyday challenges caring for a child with Autism.
Alarming statistics reveal the number of children diagnosed with Autism has grown from 1 in 10,000 just 10 short years ago to 1 in 150 today.
